OPEN SPACES / SOMMER TANZ 2018
Tanzfabrik Berlin celebrates 40 years of activity! Our anniversary summer is approaching. Through the eyes of the artists – and oriented on our annual motto REMEMBERING THE FUTURE – transformation processes, timelessness and the future, and will find their way into our festive program. To mark the start of events, our Tanzfabrik colleagues Gabriele Reuter (workshop leader) and AnnA Stein (graphic art), will offer a tour and a series of posters in the urban space as a choreographer/urbanist and as a visual artist respectively.
The many generations of artists involved in the summer edition of OPEN SPACES / SOMMER TANZ (14.-27.7.) will present their projects in a wide variety of formats – from a video installation to the classic black box. At the beginning and at the end of the festival, the youngest community members will premiere their contemporary dance works. André Uerba, Lina Gómez and Suddenly, our newest collective of international origin in Berlin!
Our long-time companions, apap artist Juan Dominguez and Gisela Müller, will offer performances dealing with their own states of transformation. The video artist Andrea Keiz focuses on the first 10 years of Tanzfabrik Berlin with a series of current interviews with contemporary witnesses, which create a collective memory.
