The Seven Years Seven Pieces project runs from 2016 to 2022, covering the period of
Cláudia Dias’s life from the age of 44 to 50. Cláudia creates a new piece each year, with
seven different partners, and writes seven texts, illustrated and designed for publication
by António Jorge Gonçalves. The pieces are named after the days of the week (Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), each with its own subtitle.
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Accompanying the entire sequence is a
different experience than seeing each piece individually, in isolation or in alternation.
Seven pieces plus one, the whole; or innumerable others, resulting from the many
possible combinations and individual collections each person wants or is able to make.
The cycle is inscribed in Cláudia Dias’s personal calendar and in public life. The project is
